Ivory “Search For The Next Ivory Family ” Contest

Ivory conducted an extensive nationwide search to find three generations of a family - grandmother, mother, and child – who embody the essence of Ivory.  The eight finalist families bring many special family traditions and celebrations of everyday moments.

Judy, Giselle and Jordana of Staten Island!

Judy, Giselle and Jordana embrace the importance of unconditional love, strength and hope.  An annual tradition in their house is making homemade tomato sauce from a special family recipe.  Mother Giselle hopes her daughter will carry on this tradition.

Atlanta

Together with 94.9 Lite FM and Atlanta Parent, Ivory congratulates the winner of the Atlanta regional search event!

San, Jan and Riley of Atlanta!

From an early age, Janice learned the importance of hard work and family commitment.  Grandmother Sandra was a single mother, raising a house full of kids. To make ends meet, Sandra held three jobs at one time but made sure her children came first.

Seattle

As part of its nationwide search, Ivory, Mix 92.5 and ParentMap hosted a LIVE audition for Seattle-area families to become the next Ivory Family.

Molly, Margaret and Anne of Seattle!

The newest generation of the family, Anne, was born near Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in China and was adopted by Margaret and her husband in 2003. Within the family, many traditions are passed from generation to generation, including the importance of family, education, recipes and beauty regimes.

Chicago

As part of its nationwide search, Ivory and Nine FM http://www.weplayanything.com together hosted LIVE auditions for Chicago-area families to become the next Ivory Family.

Mary Rose, Sandra and Alexandra of Chicago!

This finalist family originally emigrated from Italy to the U.S. in the early 1900s. Today, four generations of the family continue to share Christmas traditions, the value of education, good health and the importance of telling your family everyday that you love them.

Los Angeles

As part of its nationwide search, Ivory, KOST-FM http://www.kost1035.com and L.A. Parent together hosted a LIVE audition for Los Angeles-area families to become the next Ivory Family.

Lisa and Sasha of Porter Ranch and Diane of Chatsworth!

Recently, the oldest and fourth generation of this finalist family, great grandmother Lois, passed away.  All three generations have learned to carry on her traditions. Rocking chair stories, nightly story readings and Thanksgiving dinner family reunions are traditions passed down from grandmother to Sasha.

Salt Lake City

Jane
, Christine and Kylie of Salt Lake City!

Everyday at 4:30 a.m., grandmother Jane rises and works on her family’s farm until dark, seven days a week. Because of her work ethic, everyone in the family has learned that success in a family is accomplished by working together to achieve common goals. One night a week the entire family gathers for “family night,” where they enjoy time together participating in activities ranging from fishing to hiking to eating ice cream.

San Diego

Judy,
Rebecca and Anna of San Diego!

Every day Judy spends time with her children for play, reading and sharing meals together to talk about their news and ideas. Judy learned from her mother the importance of spending time as a family and bonding together while cooking a great meal. In this finalist family, special traditions are a great way to demonstrate family values. From exploring the outdoors to education, the entire family focuses on doing what is right.

Boston

Kay, Stephanie and Miriam of Boston!

Since their family is spread across many states, this finalist family works very hard to remain close and update each other regarding happenings and news in their lives. Holidays are important times for the family, especially Christmas and New Year’s. German and Norwegian foods are prepared as a family and the tradition of cooking meatballs together is an annual tradition passed from generation to generation.
